The Area:
Hammond is a lovely southern university town, population 30,000. The streets are lined with live oaks and crepe myrtles. The train station is 4 blocks away and is Amtrak's first stop from New Orleans to Chicago. Our house is within walking distance to Southeastern Louisiana University; located 1 mile from intersection of 2 major interstates (I-55, I-12), 50 miles north of New Orleans and 50 miles east of Baton Rouge. Attractions nearby: antique city, Global Wildlife Animal Preserve; alligator farm; swamp tours and antebellum homes. French Quarter, Riverwalk, Garden District, Aquarium, Zoo, Mississippi Riverboats 1 hr away.

Who We Are:
We are a family of four---my husband, Wynn, is a professor of health studies at the local university, my daughter, Amy, 16, is away at a residential school for gifted & talented high school youth; my daughter, Kelly, 13, is an 8th grader at a parochial school. I am a composer, music educator and develop music curriculum for talented music students. We love meeting new people, and we love to travel! Come on by for some real southern hospitality!
