The Area:
Known as the Cherry Capital of the World, Traverse City is a year-round vacation desitination as we are surrounded by two bays which flow into Lake Michigan. There are hundreds of beautiful lakes for swimming and boating. Nearby hills/mountains are for downhill skiing. People enjoy the many public golf courses including the famous "Bear" designed by Jack Nicklaus. In addition, nearby Interlochen Center for the Arts hosts year-round performances by both students and world-reknowned guest artists. There are many museums and historical sites in the area. For scenery there are two magnificent peninsulas, Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau Peninsula where it is wonderful to hike, bike, or cross-country ski. Also, many wineries are open for tours in the area. Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, a national park, has naturalist programs and wilderness areas to explore. The historic harbor town of Leland boasts smoked whitefish, tiny shops, and interesting restaurants. There are many charming antique shops in northern Michigan. The Traverse City Capitol Airport is but a ten minute drive from the house. Within driving distance to the north is the quaint town of Charlevoix (about 45 min.), the interesting town of Petoskey (60 min.), and the wealthier resort town of Harbor Springs (90 min.). Who We Are:
Owning a paper/gift boutique in Traverse City allows me a lot of freedom to pursue my love of travel and adventure to meet people, attend the theater and musical concerts. I am an avid genealogist, a registered member of the Guild of One-Name Studies, and a researcher at heart. Formerly I taught high school English and Spanish before becoming an Interior Designer, which then led to my downtown shop, only two miles away. I am active member of Faith Reformed Church, where I worship and am involved in a single women's Bible group and a couples/singles Friday Night Bible Study. My 3 websites on all pertain to genealogy! Of course, I will extend the same ownership care of your home that I do with my own. My married daughter, married son, and 3 grandchildren live nearby. I will be travelling with another Christian friend. My name is Cynthia.
