Arboles: Two bedroom, one bath cabin in Southwest Colorado with lake view.
Home Description:
Our home is located in Southwest Colorado on 1 1/2 acres of wooded
land. It is located between Pagosa Springs and Durango. We built
this cabin ourselves starting in 1985. It has two large decks,
one overlooking Navajo Lake. This two bedroom, one bath home has
all the modern amenities.
The Area:
Southwest Colorado offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiast,
including biking, hiking, rafting, hotsprings, not to mention
several world famous Indian ruins just minutes away. The lake
offers boating, fishing and swimming, with a boat dock just two
miles away. Restuarants in the area serve a wide array of choices
with specialities in Mexican cuisine. Winter recreation includes
skiing at Purgatory and Wolfcreek ski areas. There are two churches
located in Arboles, one Catholic, one non-denominational.
Other Particulars:
The cabin has TV's and VCR, telephone, and fireplace. No car available
for exchange. No smoking and would prefer no pets.
Our Preferred Destination:
Open
Dates of Exchange:
Open most times during the year with some advance notice. We can
only travel during the months of July and August and possibly
two weeks in December.
Who We Are:
We are a family of three: Don, wife Kathie, and daughter Niki.
Don works at a coal fired powerplant as an electrician. Kathie
is a nurse at a rural middle school. Niki is a freshman in high
school. We live in Farmington, New Mexico aproximately 1 1/2 hours
away from "The cabin". We attend a Community Church
and are active in the Youth Department. We meet once a week for
in home Bible study with middle school students.
We truly love going to the cabin. We usually go on the weekends making it a family retreat. There is no peace and quiet like there is at the cabin. And the stars go on forever.
