The area is a destination for many leaf-lookers in the fall, and many fall festivals are held in the area. Wild turkey, partridge, quail, pheasant, duck and goose are hunted here, as are deer, squirrel and rabbit. Our trout stream runs through the back yard, and you are welcome to try your luck. (All hunting and fishing activities have their own season and require a license.) There are many dairy farms in the area and local cheese factories have their wares for sale. Madison is the home of the University of Wisconsin and there are many points of interest connected with UW. There are so many things to explore here, a lifetime wouldn't be enough!
Other Particulars:
We have a '97 Dodge Intrepid for your use, as well as two adult
mountain bikes. We are have internet service with unlimited access.
Our house is non-smoking inside, but allowed outside. We have
two cats, Buster and Thunder, who we would ask you to care for.
We would expect to do the same at our destination. The hot-tub
on the deck is for your use--when we turn the lights off in the
house at night, all we can see are the stars and moon when they're
out. Extremely quiet and relaxing. If a family were here in the
summer, they would be welcome to whatever's ripe in the garden,
also. There is plenty of wood cut for the stove in the family
room and the fireplace in the great room, should you need/want
a fire. You're elcome to start a bon-fire outside depending on
the weather conditions. TV/VCR/Satellite. Lots of Christian videos,
tapes, CDs, books. Fishing equipment can be provided. Tread-mill
and other exercise equipment available. Sewing equipment available.
Our Preferred Destination:
We would consider any location in the world.
Dates of Exchange:
We would consider any time period with at least six weeks notice.
Who We Are:
We are Bill & Jeane, ages 69 and 64 respectively. Bill is
a retired purchasing manager, and Jeane, a retired office manager.
We have a blended family of 10 children, 14 grandchildren and
8 great-grandchildren located all over the Midwestern United States.
We have a marvelous family of Christian brothers and sisters all
over the world. We took 25 teen-agers to France and England in
1996 on a construction/evangelism trip for the summer. Bill built
most of our home himself after 'retiring' from the work force.
Bill likes to read, travel and work in his shop, and Jeane likes
to read, cook, and travel. We both work in the garden and yard
and feed the songbirds year round. We are very active in our church--Bill
teaches adult SS and is the advisor for the Royal Rangers there.
Together we have a ministry of inner healing/deliverance and have
provided a home at different times throughout the year to individuals
in need of shelter, counseling or refuge. We travel much during
the year to conferences, seminars and the like, and would like
to add exchanging homes with Christians in other areas of the
world to our experience.
