Lyons (Estes Park): A cozy 3 bedroom cabin nestled in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Close to Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Home Description:
Our home is a modest 3 year old home, built with a cabin atmosphere.
There are 3 bedrooms and 1 & 3/4 bath. The interior is mostly
pine with a wood burning stove as the heart of the house. There
is a boys room with twin beds, a girls room with bunkbeds, and
the master bedroom with a double bed. A complete kitchen and laundry
room. The great room enjoys a big picture window looking out on
a small meadow. Our home is stuated on 3/4 acres with views of
the surrounding hills. Pine and cedar trees in abudance as well
as wild deer, elk, coyotes and an occasional black bear visiting
the property.
The Area:
We live in a small community called Pinewood Springs. Across the
road is the National Forest with miles of hiking. The closest
town is 15 minutes away, Estes Park. Estes is full of old west
history, and is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. One
half hour down the mountain brings you to Boulder, CO. One half
hour past Boulder is Denver. A large city which includes the Rockies,
a great baseball team. Also,The Denver Museum of Natural History,
Elitches (an amusement park), Water World, and a host of theaters
and nightlife. Our home church is in Longmont, one half hour away.
It is full of warm, friendly people who would love to worship
with visitors.
Other Particulars:
We would be willing to offer
our Jeep in the exchange. It seats five and is 4wd, handy in the
mountains. We have a number of bikes for your use, VCR in the
great room and boys room. A computer in the great room and boys
room. We have a very fat dog, and a lazy cat that will stay elsewhere.
A canoe is also available. Estes Park has a nice lake for paddling.
Our Preferred Destination:
We are looking to spend part of our vacation in England. Anywhere
would work for us as we will take day trips to different areas.
The rest of our trip will be with missionaries and former foreign
exchange students.
Dates of Exchange:
The dates we will need for England are from June 12th to June
22nd. We realize this will be difficult for holidays in Britain,
but it is our only time.
Who We Are:
Dennis is a cabinet maker, but his heart is to be a missionary. Julie is a music director and homeschool mom. Brion is 18 and hiking the Colorado trail this summer befoe he enters the Army and begins college. He will not be with us on our vacation. Brandon is 16 and loves studying the world and it's histories. He is also a drummer and avid rock climber. Heather is 11 and loves music and horses. We are a simple, close family and we trust God for everything.
