Santa Monica: Very close to beaches; one bedroom apartment; clean, airy, and comfortable
Home Description:
I have a comfortable, nicely sized one bedroom apartment located
only a couple minutes from the beach. There is a jacuzzi and
exercise room on site. Plus my unit has the typical amenities:
microwave, dishwasher, computer, tv and vcr (it's "home").
The structure was built approximately 10 years ago and is clean
and well-managed.
The Area:
I live in the prime westside area of Los Angeles, close to Playa
Del Rey; Venice Beach; Santa Monica; Manhattan Beach (you can
even bike to them). One can see the LMU (Loyola Marymount University)
sign from my apartment building. Although I'm on the westside,
it's still fairly quiet (my mom says she sleeps better here than
in their own home). Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal
Studios, and other amusement parks are approximately 30-60 minutes
away. Basically I'm in a great location if you're interested
in visitting Los Angeles and its attractions, or if you just want
an "LA getaway".
Other Particulars:
I'm a pet lover and would be happy to take care of your pets.
Plus, I have a cat (Luci) and a guinea pig (Monty) that would
be ever grateful if you took care of them. They both love people.
Also, my teeny sidekick Luke (a 4 1/2 pound maltese) and I travel
together, so a pet freindly home is most welcome. I'm in the process
of getting Luke the "PET Travel Scheme" identification,
so he'll be able to travel internationally.
Mine is a non-smoking home, as I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. However, if you must smoke, please do so outside.
There is a jacuzzi and exercise room on the premises. I have two bicycles for your use: an adorable pink cruiser, which is my pick, and a typical mountain bike for the guys.
I suppose my apartment would be ideal for sleeping two. However, there is a sofa and "cozy" floor...
Our Preferred Destination:
I'm completely open!
Dates of Exchange:
I am an eleven-month employee and my month of vacation is always
August, with the additional few weeks of vacation here and there.
Actually I'm open because I can always take extra time off.
Who We Are:
I'm a 31-year-old Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing
at a local college, and I freelance as well. My degree is in
religion, with an emphasis in Christian Ministries. My ministry
is currently mainly with women. But I feel the Lord may guide
me in the direction of working with the Disabled(?).
As stated above, you can probably gather that I adore animals.
Honestly, I would prefer to travel with my parents (we're all Christian) or friend(s). I'm not real big on travelling alone for safety reasons.
Feel free to contact me with any and all exchange offers, as I would love to keep an open mind!
