Burleson: Built in the 60's, 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, 2 Car Garage in a quiet neighborhood with a large tree shaded, fenced back yard with an art studio.

Home Description:
Our house is clean and cozy. We have a small front living room, which we rarely use (it's great for a separate conversation area for teenagers seeking a little, but not too much, privacy at the end of a date). The family room has comfortable furniture, bookshelves, tv-vcr-dvd player, nice sized dining area and kitchen separated by a bar. We have all the usual conveniences, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer, etc. The master bath has a shower, the 2nd bathroom has a full bath. We have central heat and air (very warm or very cool as you like it) There is a nice screened in, covered patio in the back, perfect for quiet time. There are many dove who live in our back yard and are beautiful to hear.

The Area:
Our town is a twenty minute drive from beautiful downtown fort worth, which has many wonderful cultural attractions, tremendous musical venues, art galleries, theatres, safe and beautiful place to stroll in the evenings and sit outdoors at coffee houses and restaurants. It's also only twenty minutes to the historic stockyards area where you can see the cowboys drive longhorn cattle every afternoon, ride the famous tarantula railroad, shop, go the rodeo and more stuff than you can name. We are approximately one hour from downtown dallas with all its wonderful sites, home of the famous dallas cowboys football team. We are thirty minutes from arlington, home of Six Flags Over Texas amusement park (a must see, must do) and the Texas Rangers Baseball team. Burleson also has a cinema, many wonderful restaurants, churches, golf course, swimming pool, health club and great shopping - plus the people are GREAT. If you like nature we are about 45 minutes from Dinosaur Valley State Park where you can hike and see actual footprints of dinosaurs or go to the spectacular production of The Promise (and outdoor passion play that is EXCELLENT). We are about twenty minutes from a smaller state park that has a lovely lake, great for kayaking, hiking, picnicing, swimming, etc.

Other Particulars:
We would do an automobile exchange. We have a 1995 Trooper Isuzu SUV that seats five, with lots of room to spare. We have two kayaks, which are 38 pounds each and easy to handle, great for beginners. We have a six year old dachshund, which we would love to leave here, but could board if that's a problem. We are a non-smoking family and prefer not to have smoking in the house, but do not object to going outside to smoke.

Our Preferred Destination:
We would love to travel to England, Scotland, Ireland.

Dates of Exchange:
Open

Who We Are:
We have been married 30 years and have two grown daughters, who are gone from home. (One is a missionary in Thailand and the other is married and living in Colorado) We are artists (I am a sculptor and David is a photographer and a potter)and we work out of our studio behind our house. (You are welcome to try turning some pots or painting, etc.) We are born again Christians and attend a Southern Baptist Church about four miles from our house. We would care for your home as we do ours.
