Home Description:
Our Farmhouse style home has 3 bedrooms, (2 queen beds & 1 double) with 2 full baths and one powder room. It is located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, near several shopping centers with many good resturants nearby. (also 2 grocery stores plus a nice bakery!) We have a very nice deck with porch furniture and a gas grill for outdoor dining. We have a TV and VCR in our family room as well as in two bedrooms. We have a computer with high speed hook-up and a car can be included if wanted. (Toyota Avalon) We also have 2 mountain bikes which are available. Our house is very comfortable and is furnished with a "country look".
The Area:
We are located in the beautiful Brandywine Valley near many historic sites. Only 30 minutes from Philadelphia, 2 hours from Washington, DC, 2&1/2 hours from New York City, 2 hours from the mountains or the Atlantic beaches. We have many museums nearby as well as Longwood Gardens. The Brandywine River is nearby where you can leisurely hike, canoe or tube. Wilmington is the birthplace of the DuPont Company and has a wonderful museum. Wilmington has a baseball team and a nice waterfront area. Delaware is called "the small wonder, the home of tax free shopping." You will find many churches near our home.
Other Particulars:
We are both non smokers and have no pets. We would prefer no smoking in our home. We have a washer and dryer.
Our Preferred Destination:
We would like an exchange in Switzerland, Greece or Italy but are open to other places in Europe. This is our first exchange, but we are excited to share our home.
Dates of Exchange:
We are available the months of April, May, July and August, 2005. We would prefer 2 or 3 weeks but would consider 4 weeks.
Who We Are:
Elray is retired from the DuPont Company and is currently the Administrator of our Church, New Life Christian Fellowship. He is also active in the Gideon ministry. Joretta is a retired Missions Secretary and serves as the Prayer Coordinator in Delaware for Aglow International. Elray is an Elder in our church and we are active in the Homegroup Ministry. Our Church is small (125 members) but very friendly. Our daughter lives nearby and would be glad to assist you in any way.
