Home Description:
Our home is a ten yr. old, top-of-the-line, manufactured home in a quiet family, pet-friendly community. Our home has 3 bedrooms, two full baths, a combined livingroom/kitchen/dining area that is bright and airy with vaulted ceilings. We have cable tv in every room, along with a full office (pc, fax, scanner, printer) which can also accomodate 1-2 people comfortablly. Our home has a private, fenced back yard,bordering a creek. Beautiful view of Mt. Rainier out the Living room, office and master bedroom windows! Use of car possible to right candidate. Our home/car is NON SMOKING. We do have a small dog, age 13yrs, who often comes with us on local trips - but would need looking after (feeding and hugs!) if we would travel out of state. We also offer bikes (two women's one man's) for our guests and all the fresh lavendar you can pick from our front garden. All electric heat and cooking. Kitchen is complete with microwave, electric oven, toaster oven, full refrigerator/freezer, Juiceman Juicer. Feather comforters in every room! Master bedroom has queen size bed, office has twin bed/trundle that converts to double, small bedroom has twin bed and pull out futon if needed, living room has pull out sofa bed - new. Sorry - no fireplace, but air conditioning in summer months in office and main area of house. (Seldom needed but nice when there's a hot spell).
The Area:
Located 1 hour southeast of Seattle, Enumclaw, WA is a charming country village, with a population of 10,000 and a delightful downtown shopping area with two movie theatres, easy access to Mt. Rainier and ski resorts. We are ten minutes from DEEP LAKE - one of the most beautiful recreational lakes in Washington State. Perfect for swimming, a family barbecue, even small boat launch. Comfortable home, away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities - yet an easy drive when you want to see a show or attend a special event. Several churches within walking distance. Beautiful, new hiking/biking trail just outside our community that leads you into town. We are located 1 mile from the King County Fairground, half an hour from the large city of Renton, WA and 50 minutes from SeaTac Airport. Easy access to all points!
Other Particulars:
As mentioned above, we are willing to include our 1994 Toyota Tercel (manual tranny) in this exchange. It's great on gas and comfortably seats 4 people. We offer 3 adult bicycles (2 women's, 1 men's), use of our pc computer with high speed cable. We offer VCR/DVD/Color tv's in every room, with cable tv service (BBC America in living room - with extended cable!) Fenced back yard for complete privacy. Non-Smoking home - absolutely no smoking permitted (even outside). We do have one small, 13 yr old dog that travels with us when possible, but might be needing looked after when we travel out of state/country. Would prefer pet-friendly folks. House is kept clean (linoleum/wood floors with area carpets) - easy to pick up. One note: There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal in our home. There is a nearly new washer and dryer in the pantry. The kitchen dining table looks right out onto the back yard - makes for some cosy candlelight suppers.

Home has short flight of stairs/porch at front entry, and short flight of stairs out to back garden. Home is bright, airy and very secure with full curtains at night time. Feel free to ask questions.
Our Preferred Destination:
England - This summer - we are traveling to Bristol for ten days, then over to Essex (Colchester/Burnham-on-Crouch, Maldon).
Dates of Exchange:
July 20 thru August 23rd. Week of August 1-5th MUST be in Bristol - due to a course we are taking there at the Bristol School of Animation (UWE Campus).
Who We Are:
My name is Nancy. I am a 56 yr old single mum. I live with my 15 yr old son, Max and our loyal 13 yr old dog, Nick. My son and I have been members of Highlands Community Church in Renton, Washington (half an hour away - as we moved from Renton 3 years ago) for 14 years. I have gone on several mission trips with our church, most notably to Moldova, Russia in 1999. I am a photojournalist and my son is a sophomore in high school, with a keen interest in claymation/animation and video production. We live quietly, but enjoy walking in to town for a meal at one of the many restaurants (Cynthia's Pony Express Cafe is a must! All home made bread/soup/YUM!), antique shops, gift shops or movie theatres - including a 1940's movie house "The Chalet" that presents lst run films for $4.00 - popcorn for 75 cents and a coke for 50 cents! Yes - it's like going back in time! But don't worry,there's a Safeway, QFC, Walgreens, RiteAide, Blockbuster Video, two Starbucks' and even a health/beauty spa. We have one of the nicest libraries going.
