Carleton Place: 3 bedroom 100 year cottage/house (one bathroom) on large Mississippi Lake near Ottawa, our nation's capital.

Home Description:
Our home is part cottage (useable in summer sleeps 5) that is attached to main house. It has a large shoreline as we are on a large point (bring a boat, swim suit and watershoes), we have a canoe. The lake is 23 miles long and good for fishing. There is a large country garden to sit and relax in or have a BARBQ by the water's edge. We have three friendly Christian cats!! Have a country get away with the amenities of a large city close at hand.

The Area:
We live on a small private country lane 8 minutes from the town of Carleton Place and 1/2 hour from Kanata (Wave Pool), Perth or the Hershey chocolate factory in Smiths Falls or 45 minutes from Ottawa and the Parliament Buildings, many museums, art gallery, restaurants, etc. -- Algonquin Park is a two hour drive. Many churches are close by. There are also lots of golf courses around.

Other Particulars:
There are two computers with dial up connection, a VCR, Christian CD's, an upper patio overlooking the water and sunsets and a lower one ground level --both good for meals out. There is no smoking and one must like cats as we have three (Misty, Chico and Holly). A small family or couple would be ideal.

Our Preferred Destination:
Depending on our time and financial situation, we would be open to travel almost anywhere. At the moment (2005) prefer to stay in Canada.

Dates of Exchange:
To use the cottage, May to end of September is best as it is not heated.

Who We Are:
We are only two (in late 40's), Cliff (originally from Trinidad) and Patricia. We do not smoke. We love meeting other Christians and hearing testimonies of what God is doing in other people's lives and sharing our own. We love good food and good company.
