Malmo: Comfortable five bedroom house with secluded garden on the southern tip of Sweden close to lovely sandy beaches and Copenhagen, Denmark.
Home Description:
We have a comfortable and practical Scandinavian type one and a half -storey house with a secluded garden in the east of Malmo. It has five spacious bedrooms and can easily accommodate 6-7 persons. There are two bathrooms and all modern appliances in the kitchen area. The sitting room is rather big with a piano and Satellite TV. We have also a dining room where you can seat 8-10 people. In one of the bedrooms there is a computer. The garden is easily accessible with a big veranda.
The Area:
Malmo is the third biggest city of Sweden (pop. 270,000) and is situated in the province of Scania in the very south of Sweden with a mild coastal climate. It has a lively cultural life, a symphony orchestra, a big theatre with its opera orchestra, other theatres, museums, art hall, galleries, etc. It has has also good beaches, close to the city center.
Our house is about 10 - 20 minutes from the centre by car, bike or bus. Some of Sweden´s best beaches and golf courses are 20-25 minutes south of our house. The very old city of Lund with its famous university is less than 20 kms away.
We can reach Copenhagen Airport in 20 minutes by car or train and the centre of Copenhagen in 40; thus we are close to the new bridge that runs between Sweden and Denmark.
Scania offers all types of landscapes within a radius of 100 kms lakes, woods, varied coastlines, sandy beaches (and rocks in the north west) and there are many castles. You can make many interesting excursions both in Scania and Denmark. Elsinore with Hamlet´s castle is not more than an hour away.
Other Particulars:
Automobile exchange possible. We have a Chevrolet Trans Sport (Venture), 2001(7 seats) and a Saab 9000, 1991. Computer, VCR, DVD, Satelite TV with CNN, BBC etc. Bicycles (4) No smoking inside. We have a little dog, a dwarf pudel, but it is not necessary to have him included in the exchange.
Our Preferred Destination:
West coast of US - California.
Spain, Italy, France - by the mediterranean sea.
Dates of Exchange:
Any 2-3 weeks between July 1 and August 15, 2006.
Who We Are:
We are a Pastor's family with 4 children. Daniel is working as Senior pastor in a baptist Church, Immanuel Church, in Malmo, Ann-Sofie is right now home, taking care of our new born baby Hannah, but otherwise she is working at an Christian care home for elderly people. Miriam, our oldest doughter is 17 and studying economics at the gymnasium. Gabriel is 15 and Benjamin is 11.
