Home Description:
Three bedroom family home with air-conditioning in two bedrooms and air-conditioning in the lounge/dining area. We have a pool and an entertaining area.We recently renovated our kitchen and have refurbished a lot of the house in general. We have extra room for computer and gym equipment and this also accommodates our futon lounge which is handy for extra bedding. We live in a nice neighbourhood which is considered to be positioned in a good location.
The Area:
Most church denominations are situated in Rockhampton. We are a large town with some cultural activities to visit (The Dreamtime Centre promotes Aboriginal Australian culture and the Heritage Village depicts the Australian way of life during the settlement era). We are a 30 minute drive away from the Capricorn Coast - lots of beaches and a theatre restaurant. You can take a 30 minute boat trip from there to visit Great Keppel Island which boasts a lovely resort. While you're at the Capricorn Coast take a drive up to Byfield (30 min.) where you can see the world-renowned pottery store or stay at some cabins in the rainforest. We have the gem fields in Central Queensland (about 2 - 3 hour from Rocky) where you can have much fun fossicking for gemstones. While you're near the area you could visit Krombit Tourist Park which gives you a taste of outback life (without having to go too far outback). If you drive 3 hours north you will find Mackay, another coastal town. Eungella being a popular tourist destination -while you're there see the platypuses.
We also have a small zoo in Rockhampton which boasts a lot of our native animals (koalas, kangaroos, wombats, etc.) and Mt. Archer National Park.
Other Particulars:
Possible car exchange. Computer/internet usage is fine. TV/dvd player and use of golf clubs is available. Bicycle and exercise equipment (weights, bench and treadmill) for fitness conscious people.
Children's swings/play equipment available for young ones.
No smoking inside the house please. We do have pets but they would be at boarding school during your visit.
