Shedd (Albany): Refurbished 1890 Country Pasonage. 3 bedroom, two story Craftsman style house with basement

Home Description:
Originally built as a schoolhouse around 1890, this house has had many changes over the years. Three bedrooms and full bathroom upstairs. Kitchen, dining room, den, family room and bathroom on first floor. TV room/playroom in the basement. The house serves as the Manse or parsonage and is next door to Oakville Presbyterian Church (see website: www.oakvillechurch.org ). There is plenty of open space around the house (large lawn area) and a vegetable garden area out back.

The Area:
The house (and church) is located in a rural area just outside of Albany and Corvallis, Oregon - home of Oregon State University. The main crop in this farming area is grass seed. It is nestled in the center of the Willamette Valley just 60 miles east of the coast and 60 miles west of the Cascade mountain range. You can see for several miles from the windows looking out over the fields to the Cascade range and coastal range. There is much to do close by as well as a good central place to venture out from to different destinations in the Northwest.

Other Particulars:
The house has all of the modern ammenities. The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2001 with a new dishwaher, oven, stove & microwave, walls, floors and cabinets. We have a nice large propane BBQ on the patio.
The Detached garage has 3 "bays" - one packed with "stuff", the other two for the cars. The "stuff" includes at least 4 bicycles you are welcome to use.
The TV, VCR, DVD player, and computer are in the basement Family Room.
We have a dog, two cats and a small fish. However, their care can be negotiated. The dog and cats are strictly outdoors!
Use of our cars can be negotiated. 1990 Jeep Cherokee and 1990 Honda Accord.

There is absolutley no smoking (we are very sensitive to smoke)! The only pets allowed inside have to be in a small cage or tank.

We will gladly supply pictures and more detailed information if you are interested.

Our Preferred Destination:
Our dream is to go to Great Britain, preferably Scotland. However we are open to just about anywhere in the world. - Somewhere in the United States may be all we can afford.

Dates of Exchange:
June and July of 2006 in particular.
Other times may be available as well.

Who We Are:
John has been the Pastor of Oakville Presbyterian Church since Jan. 1995 (www.oakvillechurch.org). He and his wife, Mary, are 40 something and have two daughters: Hannah (13) and Heidi (9). They enjoy traveling but have not done very much of it. We are very respectful of other people's property and often leave places cleaner than when we arrived.
The Oakville Church Family is very loving and caring. They are helpful to the "people in the parsonage" but they are also respectful of thier privacy.
