Home Description:
Our home is a functioning B & B. It is therefore equipped for visitors and ready for your family. We are not victorian, but rather comfortably country. The great room has a 25' ceiling and huge fireplace wall. There is a study and reading loft for common use. We have two bedrooms downstairs, one having a queensize bed, and full bath with clawfoot tub/shower. The other downstairs room is our living quarters having a kingsize bed, sitting area and full bath. Upstairs we have a family room that has a queensize bed and two twin loft bunks, sitting area and full bath. The other upstairs room has a kingsize bed and full bath with jacuzzi. There is a deck off of these rooms with stairs going down to the 7 X 14 Swimspa.
Also on the property is a bunk house that sleeps 25, with its own full kitchen. Check our website at www.applelodge.com.
The Area:
Just outside of the historic town of Del Norte, right near the Rio Grande River. Churches, Antique Shops, groceries and restuarants are available in town. Most anything you'd want is within an hour's drive. Wolf Creek pass is just 40 minutes away, over 11,000 ft. altitude.
We are near tourist trains, skiing, snowmobiling, rafting, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, biking, hot springs, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Penitente Canyon, etc.
Other Particulars:
We are a non-smoking facility. We have a Honda Pilot that seats up to 8. We have a dog run for guest's pets if absolutely necessary. All rooms have TV's, VCR's. We have a DVD in the study, as well as the only satellite receiver in the house. There is also a computer with internet access available. The bunk house also has ping-pong & foosball..
Our Preferred Destination:
Coastal Virginia (Our son is in the Coast Guard in Portsmouth). Other locations would be considered for other times.
Dates of Exchange:
Currently looking this year, 2006, for 1 week in mid October (preferrably 14th - 21st?).
Who We Are:
We are Mark & Judy, and are born again Christians. Our children are grown and active in Christian ministries. We have a miniature Schnauzer-Annabelle, (note: Schnauzer's are hypoallergenic), & she would be staying with family near here during our trip. Previous to moving in 2003 to Colorado, we were in (Classical & Christian) Education in South Texas.
